FASTNET LINE GEARS UP FOR CLASSIC CARS’ TOUR TO IRELAND
Holiday motorists on board the Fastnet Line enjoyed a spectacular treat recently when almost 40 classic AC cars embarked on the MV Julia at Swansea docks on their way to a special tour of the picturesque Skibbereen area of West Cork.
AC is one of the oldest independent car marques founded in Britain and its cars have become famous - and highly collectable - the world over.
Arguably the most prestigious and exclusive one make car clubs in existence, the AC Owners Club holds an annual international meeting which this year sees members gather from all parts of the UK, as well as France, Sweden and Germany.
Paul O`Brien, Fastnet Lines General Manager, said, "We’re receiving high booking levels from every sector of the UK tourist market and we`re particularly pleased with the response that we’ve had from specialist car clubs who aim to enjoy the marvellous touring opportunities offered by the South of Ireland as well as its legendary hospitality.”
With 300 comfortable cabins, extensive public areas and a selection of relaxing bars and child-friendly restaurants, the Fastnet Line's ship, MV Julia has brought the holiday attractions of South West Ireland within easy reach of UK holidaymakers and, significantly, helps them to avoid an arduous and fuel-sapping 370 mile drive by alternative surface routes.
