Q. What ID / Passport / Visa do I need to travel to/from Ireland?
A. All passengers, including children, intending to travel with Fastnet Line must have in their possession valid photo identification, ie. Passport or Drivers Licence. A birth certificate will provide adequate proof of identity for your child if a passport is not available. Passengers arriving at Cork/Swansea Ports without valid identification may be refused entry. Please note that all nationalities (except Irish or British) require passports. Non-EU nationals should check with the British or Irish embassy before travelling as they may also require a Visa.
Q. What time should I arrive for check in ?
A. Passengers may check-in two and a half hours in advance of departure. Check-in closes 45 minutes before departure. Please allow extra time if you need to collect tickets at the port.
Q. How can I pay?
A. You can pay by credit card online or if you want to pay by Laser Card (Ireland) you can ring the Irish reservation office telephone number.
Q. Why is there a 2.5% charge for using a credit card?
A. This is a charge Fastnet Line has to pay the credit card company for processing your payment.

Q. Can I cancel/amend my booking?
A. Fastnet Line allows you to cancel your booking but terms and conditions apply. All cancellations should be submitted by email to
Charge for Cancellations;
- Cancellations made 8 or more days before sailing: £40 / €45
- Cancellations made 3 - 7 days before sailing: 50 % of fare
- Cancellations made within 48 hours of or after sailing: 100% of fare
Promotional and sale fares may attract special terms and conditions relating to amendment and cancellation charges which will be listed on the relevant fare pages over the course of the offer booking period.
Amendments can be made online by clicking on the "Amend Booking" tab on the top menu of every website page. Bookings can also be amended by phone. There will be a £20/€20 charge for all amendments made.

Q. What are your office opening hours ?
A. UK Opening Hours
Monday to Thursday 0800-2000 hours
Friday 0800-1900 hours
Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holidays 0900-1800 hours
Irish opening hours
Monday to Friday 09.00 to 17.30 excluding Bank Holidays.
Q. How long does each sailing take?

Q. Does Fastnet Line provide a freight service?

Q. Do you carry motorcycles ?
A. Yes - you can book a place for your motorcycle or motorcycle/sidecar on the ferry.
Q. On my return journey I will have extra passengers, how can I book this?
A. If return passengers differ from outward passengers please call our offices to make your booking and we will be happy to help you.
Q. What facilities do you have for the disabled / infirm?
A. The Julia has lifts to all floors, and on-the-level access to all passenger areas.
Q. Are there hairdryers in the cabins?
A. Fastnet Line do not suppy hairdryers in our cabins.
Q. What type of sockets are cabins fitted with?
A. Cabins are fitted with two pin sockets. Passengers are advised to bring adapters suitable for two pin sockets should they wish to use a power point.
Q. Are there facilities for Pets on-board the Julia?
A. Yes - the Julia has a number of spacious, secure, kennel runs - each of which can accommodate one or more dogs or cats. Pet owners can visit their pets during the crossing at specific visiting times.There is a small charge for this - (€20 / £18 per trip) - don’t forget to book your pet’s kennel accommodation when making your booking. Only domestic pets such as cats/dogs are allowed occupy the kennels. *New* From October 2011 Dog Owners can visit their pets in the kennels area at any time. You can also leave your pet in your car during the sailing if you prefer however there is no access to the car decks during the sailing. If you intend travelling with horses or other livestock you must make your booking with our freight department on +353 87 178 4293.
Q. I'm travelling by myself. Will I have to share my cabin?
A. No. Passenger's cabins are private and are not shared with other passengers.
Q. I am travelling on a day time sailing, do I need to book accommodation?
A. It is not necessary to book accommodation on a day time sailing. When booking, just click "Continue" on the accommodation page to proceed.
Q. Can I sign up now for Special offers and any other information?
A. Yes. Please sign up for our newsletter by entering your name and email address in the two boxes on the right hand side of this page under the Newsletter heading.

Q. Will Fastnet Line be using Tesco Club Card Vouchers?
A. To qualify for the Tesco Club Card Voucher scheme a company must be in operation for at least a year. We are in discussion with Tesco and hope to be accepted in their scheme soon.
Q. How will payment show on my credit/debit card statement?
A. Your credit card statement will show your payment as "The Travel Gateway Limited".
Q. Does The Julia have a cinema?
A. The Julia does have a cinema situated on Deck 9. Tickets for films may be purchased at reception half an hour before the showing time.
Q. Are you recruiting staff for the new service?
A. All crew and shore positions have now been filled. Should other positions become available in the future they will be displayed on this website and you are welcome to make a formal application at that time.
